On account of the heavy rains and resulting flooding, County Board Chair Nancy Russell has declared a state of emergency for Walworth County. The declaration was made at 2:50 p.m. on July 12, 2017. The State of Emergency will be effect until further notice. This declaration is an important step in the event that state or federal money becomes available to assist in recovery.
Darien Plan Commission has been canceled for the month of July. There being no business to come before the Plan Commission the meeting scheduled for July 29, 2017. Next Meeting – August 29, 2017 at the Darien Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.2017 July 25 PC Agenda
The Town of Darien will receive sealed bids until 4:00 P.M., July 31, 2017 at the office of the Town of Darien, N2826 Foundry Road, Darien, Wisconsin 53114. On August 1, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town of Darien Town Board Meeting the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for labor, material, tools and equipment necessary for the following project:

All bidders must execute and file in the bid proposal a “Bidder’s Proof of Competency” questionnaire, which form is included in the contract document. The questionnaire shall be kept on file and be valid for the calendar year, subject to the Contractor’s status through the year. Additional blank forms of this questionnaire can be obtained from the Consulting Engineer’s office. Prior filing of such form with the Town of Darien or Consulting Engineer for the current calendar year shall satisfy this requirement.
No bid can be received or considered unless accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Certified Check equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, payable to the Town of Darien, as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds within ten (10) days from the date the lowest responsible bidder’s bid is accepted. In the event the bidder fails to file such contract and bond within the time set by the Town, the check or bond shall be forfeited to the Town as liquidated damages.
The Town of Darien reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive or not to waive any informalities in the bidding. The letting of the contract described herein is subject to provisions of Sections 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
After bids are opened, no bid can be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days thereafter.

Joint Meeting with Town Board Supervisors and Park/Recreation Commission – Immediately following adjournment of the Joint Meeting will hold a Special Town Board Meeting in lieu of its regular July Town Board meeting for the following purposes.
There being no business to come before the Plan Commission the meeting scheduled for June 27, 2017 has been canceled. Next Meeting Date July 25, 2017.
Please contact either Public Works Superintendent or the Town Clerk with your address. Brush should be a minimum of 4 inches in length and no larger then 6 inches in diameter. Please place your brush on the shoulder. Additional information is on the Public Works Website.
Regular June Darien Park & Recreation Commission Meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Darien Town Hall at N2826 Foundry Road.
