Town History

In 1838 an act of the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature created the Town of Delavan, consisting of four towns of which Darien was one.

By an act of the Legislature, in 1840, Darien was detached and formed into a separate town.

The Village of Darien separated from the town in 1951 when it was incorporated.
